History
W. G. Sutherland (USA) discovered in
the 1920s that the cranium bones make rhythmical movements,
which continue to the sacrum. He developed techniques
with which he influence this system. He was always talking
about "Inner breath". Today we called his
work cranial osteopathy.
Since this time also other people around the world get
experience about any movement of the cranial bones.
Dr. J. E. Upledger (USA) found out
in the beginning of the 1970s that there are rhythmical
movements in the dura mater spinalis (cerebral membrances).
This happen during an operation at the spinal colum,
he observe a slowly, rhythmical movement of dura mater
spinalis. He was so fascinated that he start a big project
to discover this pulse. In the next 10 years together
with some other specialist, he developed the
craniosacral concept, the craniosacral therapy and the
programme for instructions.
Since the earliest 1980s the work spread out around
the world. Because of the good success, the craniosacral
therapy gets very famous and common. Since 1990 the
craniosacral therapy find his way to Germany.
